Ways We Grow Together

At Gilibanga, growth happens through connection, learning, leadership and collective action. We grow our Network by creating opportunities for members to connect, learn and lead, while actively building relationships across the broader evaluation sector. By showing up in professional spaces, contributing to important conversations and sharing Blak-led approaches to evaluation, we help create greater visibility for our members and strengthen the presence of First Nations voices across the field.

Amplify

We amplify the voices, knowledge and practice of Blak evaluators across the evaluation sector. By sharing stories, showcasing leadership and elevating culturally grounded methodologies, we strengthen recognition of First Nations expertise and demonstrate what better practice looks like.

We actively champion opportunities for our members to share their work through conferences, events, forums and sector conversations. By increasing the visibility of Blak evaluators and creating pathways into influential spaces, we help ensure First Nations perspectives are shaping the future of evaluation practice.

Build

We build confidence, capability and connection among First Nations peoples working in evaluation. Through culturally responsive learning opportunities, mentorship, knowledge sharing and professional development, we create pathways for mob to step into the evaluation space, strengthen their practice and lead the work into the future.

We also support members to develop their own culturally grounded methodologies, frameworks, workshops and approaches, creating a space where ideas can be incubated, tested and strengthened before being shared more broadly across the sector.

Disrupt

We challenge systems that have historically excluded First Nations voices and experiences. By decolonising and demystifying evaluation and impact measurement, we create space for new ways of thinking and practising that are accountable, culturally safe and community-led.

Through collective advocacy, leadership and courageous conversations, we challenge environments and practices that have not always felt accessible or safe for First Nations peoples. We work to create pathways where mob can participate, contribute and lead with confidence, while encouraging the broader sector to reflect, learn and evolve

Connect

Our monthly Network yarns provide a culturally safe space for members to gather, share wisdom, reflect on practice and learn from one another. Guided by rotating leadership and themed conversations, these gatherings strengthen relationships, build confidence and ensure many voices contribute to shaping the future of Gilibanga.

Together, these actions help us grow a thriving, connected community that is strengthening the visibility, capability and leadership of Blak evaluators. By backing our members to step into sector spaces, share their knowledge and influence practice, we are helping create a future where First Nations voices are not only present, but valued, respected and leading the conversation.
